Media, Capital Hill.

I find it maddening how much the pop media is focusing on trite disputes between Tea Partier GOPs and so-called Socialist Democrats. Glenn Beck and O'Reill are obviously at fault, but also Maddow and even Jon Stewart (although he's a comedian, he's been a haven for liberal-minded audiences, so bares some responsibility) are occupying their shows with this GOP/DEM dichotomy. The absurd theater that ensues between them is a nice distraction from what is actually going on in Capitol Hill. The Democrats have turned into broad sweeping party, from conservative to moderate to slightly liberal, diluting the interests of the people with the interest of big business. They are a very successful party and their interests in dealing with these bills are with lobbyists.

Buckminster Winter 2010

My band, Buckminster, is in the midst planning a Feb/March 2010 Midwest tour. This will hopefully turn out to be about 10 day, 7 shows. so far it looks like Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee, Bloomington. any suggestions for any people in the midwest looking to host some music. we'll play house parties, galleries, whatever. We'll also have a full length CD by the beginning of the year. So look out.
