Media, Capital Hill.

I find it maddening how much the pop media is focusing on trite disputes between Tea Partier GOPs and so-called Socialist Democrats. Glenn Beck and O'Reill are obviously at fault, but also Maddow and even Jon Stewart (although he's a comedian, he's been a haven for liberal-minded audiences, so bares some responsibility) are occupying their shows with this GOP/DEM dichotomy. The absurd theater that ensues between them is a nice distraction from what is actually going on in Capitol Hill. The Democrats have turned into broad sweeping party, from conservative to moderate to slightly liberal, diluting the interests of the people with the interest of big business. They are a very successful party and their interests in dealing with these bills are with lobbyists.

Here's an article about how the Democratic Party is expanding while becoming the party of choice for big business:

American Empire is Bankrupt by Chris Hedges

http://www.truthdig.com/report/page2/20090614_the_american_empire_is_bankrupt/

"The architects of this new global exchange realize that if they break the dollar they also break America’s military domination. Our military spending cannot be sustained without this cycle of heavy borrowing. The official U.S. defense budget for fiscal year 2008 is $623 billion, before we add on things like nuclear research. The next closest national military budget is China’s, at $65 billion, according to the Central Intelligence Agency."

Make That Dolla

10:30am ..... I just woke up, had two pots of tea, read some news, listened to some music. My mind is ready to be productive and creative. But instead I will go walk dogs for 6 hours, and when i get back by 6pm , my body will be tired, and my mind will be close to worthless.

Alright, cool.
